The Supreme Court hosted the first meeting of the Working Group on the Implementation of the Rule of Law Roadmap, for which the Supreme Court was designated as the responsible executor. Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka took part in the meeting.
The President of the Supreme Court, Stanislav Kravchenko, emphasized that the Supreme Court is actively engaged in activities within the framework of the European integration process, clearly understanding its mission and the societal importance of this goal. In particular, last year, representatives of the Supreme Court participated in the Ukraine–EU bilateral screening sessions as part of the government delegation, reviewing the alignment of Ukraine’s legislation with EU law in several areas.
“We fully understand the public’s expectations regarding the independence and integrity of the judiciary, the need to build public trust in the courts in the context of European integration, and the importance of ensuring stable judicial practice, transparency, and efficiency within the judicial system. The purpose of this meeting is, above all, to coordinate efforts in these areas to achieve our ambitious goal. If we act jointly and consistently, we will undoubtedly achieve the expected results,” — stated President of the Supreme Court.
Taras Kachka highlighted the crucial role of the Supreme Court in aligning the functioning of the judiciary with EU requirements. He noted that the Rule of Law Roadmap is not an exhaustive or final list of measures that Ukraine must implement on its path toward EU accession, as the implementation process will naturally reveal additional areas requiring legislative or institutional adjustments. Therefore, he stressed the need to direct joint efforts toward implementing the planned steps within a broader context.

During the meeting, Rasіm Babanly, First Deputy Chief of Staff - Head of the Department for Analytical and Legal Work of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the Working Group, presented and analyzed the set of measures under the Roadmap assigned to the Supreme Court, outlining steps already taken toward their implementation.
The meeting was also attended by Vitalii Urkevych, Secretary of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court and Head of the Working Group; Larysa Rohach, President of the Commercial Cassation Court within the Supreme Court; Nataliia Antoniuk, Vice President of the Criminal Cassation Court within the Supreme Court; Olha Stupak, Judge of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court; Myroslava Bilak and Volodymyr Kravchuk, Judges of the Administrative Cassation Court within the Supreme Court; Oleksandra Yanovska, Judge of the Criminal Cassation Court within the Supreme Court; and Vasyl Krat, Judge of the Civil Cassation Court within the Supreme Court.
